Newport Coast Culture

Nearby Newport Beach offers little theater productions, several libraries, a teen center, jazz and film festivals, art and nautical museums, and an annual surfing competition.

Other nearby areas in Orange Counties offer every type of world class cultural and artistic expression imaginable.

Newport Coast Education

Newport Coast is served by the Newport-Mesa School District which also serves the City of Costa Mesa and Laguna Beach School District, two of the most prestigious, high scoring districts in the state of California. However the success of the schools is a result of the involvement and support of parents and community members. Their efforts are evident in a $110 million bond that was passed to renovate all schools in the district in 2000, as well as a colorful dress code recently voted in by the parents at Newport Elementary: students have the option of wearing Navy blue shirts, white shirts or Hawaiian shirts (the latter being the most popular), or they can opt out of the code with parental approval. Scholastically, though, Newport Coast schools shine by scoring in the 8Oth and 90th percentiles compared to other schools in California. In 2000, Newport Harbor High won national Blue Ribbon for running an exceptional program. In 1998, Corona del Mar High School won Blue Ribbon for excellence for a second time. And the private schools are no exception: Tarbut V' Torah also won a national Blue Ribbon for academic excellence.

The University of California at Irvine greatly enriches the cultural life, and through its extension program offers a great variety of college-level classes to the public.

Newport Coast Housing

A prestigious community, Newport Coast offers home owners a choice of housing sizes and styles ranging from modest to opulent, with all custom & semi custom home styles showing a high level of care.

Newport Coast is renowned for its ocean-front properties with ocean vistas from a high percentage of property locations. Housing styles range from condos, homes to extravagant estates located on bluffs and hillsides overlooking the bay. You will find that home prices are most often influenced by the views and the close proximity to the ocean. However, because Newport Coast is divided into numerous neighborhoods, each one with its own attributes and characteristics, home prices vary and afford buyers numerous opportunities.

Newport Coast Lifestyle

Recreation and leisure activities, as well as everyday amenities are abundant in Newport Coast. A newly established town, Newport Coast is known for its small shops on Pacific Coast Highway, other neighborhoods. To visit larger stores such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, and  Neiman Marcus, residents have the choices of Fashion Island (premier outdoor shopping center) and nearby South Coast Plaza, one of the busiest and most exclusive shopping malls in Southern California. Newport Coast also boasts a variety of large and small hotels, movie theaters, and gourmet restaurants.

Newport Coast Nature

Whales often frolic offshore and can be seen via whale watching expeditions, or from the coast.

Newport Coast Recreation

Three golf courses, a large park-ecological preserve, parks scattered around city, beaches, boating and water sports are available for outdoorsmen and women.

Newport Coast Transportation

Homeowners have easy access to get to, from  and around other parts Los Angeles and Orange County. California Highway 55 leads to other freeways and highways in the area, Pacific Coast Highway runs along the Pacific Ocean and The Toll Road (Highway 73) leads from Newport Coast to South Orange County. For those in need of an air travel the City borders John Wayne Airport, so Air travel is within 10 minutes from anywhere in Newport Beach. Newport Coast
